THROWBACK THURSDAY: REJECT SUPER SONIC SUB'S ORIGINAL DRAWINGS

Super Sonic Sub Original Drawings, by Elizabeth B Martin

Super Sonic Sub Original Drawings, by Elizabeth B Martin

These drawings were supposed to be part of a series (one must think big!) of an intrepid team going on adventures and saving the oceans.

The last eight weeks TBTs showed Ziggy the cat, Woof the dog, Ernest the gecko and Frank the puffin on an adventure in what became the Super Sonic Sunny Sub.

I decided to make the Super Sonic Sub shaped like a Mola-Mola fish instead of the above design. When it hatches, a Mola-Mola is the size of a pinhead but will grow to be the heaviest bony fish in the ocean. It has a wonderfully rounded shape and is quite endangered. I thought it should get some attention.

This is the last TBT in this series. You can go back and see the first eight TBTs showing this book.

This is a page from my FRITZY BANG BANG DOES CLEANUP Color and Write Story.

On this page, we have caught Fritzy Bang Bang and his friend Woof swooshing down on a mission to save the ocean.

As you can see, I had fun coloring it in and writing silly comments. If you go to my Color and Write Stories Page you will find the full story and others. You can download them for free and then color and write your own version.

THE SUPER SONIC SUNNY SUB SHAPED AFTER THE MOLA-MOLA

Many of the books I have written have to do with the oceans. The oceans cover three quarters of the earth and are in danger. Considering we get our oxygen from the oceans, this isn’t promising for our future.

I would love to have succeeded in writing a series of children’s book adventures in the ocean. It is important that we trigger children’s imagination and interest. They are the scientists of the future.

So far, I have had lots of fun trying, but nothing has been quite right. Writing children’s books is not for the faint of heart!

The Mola-Mola, or Sunfish

The Mola-Mola, or Sunfish

I am fascinated by the Mola-Mola, so in one of my efforts I incorporated its shape into the design of my Super Sonic Sunny Sub. This fish is a remarkable animal. When it hatches, a Mola-Mola is the size of a pinhead but will grow to be the heaviest bony fish in the ocean. This amazing fish is fascinating and definitely quite endangered. I thought it should get some attention.

I find the Mola-Mola has a friendly round shape perfect for a Super Sonic Sunny Sub for young children. See what you think and please check out some of my other water adventures in my gallery.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: GETTING READY FOR THE MISSION

These drawings were supposed to be part of a series (one must think big!) of an intrepid team going on adventures and saving the oceans.

Last week’s episode showed how Woof was awakened by a glowing Sunny, who then followed a map, went down a drain, and ended on a Super Sonic Sunny Sub. Not your run of the mill day, so Woof is a little shaken while meeting the crew.

Captain Frank the puffin is explaining the mission. Ziggy the engineer cat is working out the details and Ernest the gecko is making a new entry into his diary. They have to rescue a baby orca whale that has lost its mother. Before the mission starts, Ziggy, of course, takes a quick catnap. Finally they plug in Sunny and off they go.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: WOOF FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS

These drawings were supposed to be part of a series (one must think big!) of an intrepid team going on adventures and saving the oceans.

Last week’s TBT showed how Woof finds Sunny the toy sunfish. After cleaning it up, he goes to bed with his new toy. Woof then wakes up to find Sunny glowing and sees a map. He springs out of bed and starts following the directions. They lead him to a drain and Woof jumps in. He and Sunny find themselves whisked into blueness and entering a wild space-time portal that transports them directly into the world ocean and onto the Super Sonic Sunny Sub. This is all a bit much for Woof and he is not sure he likes the look of the crew.
