Jazz is a spunky havanese. From all the photos from the client, I chose this pose. I loved his assertive positive look. Jazz is definitely not bashful and is quite pleased with himself, which is as it should be. I paint pet portraits professionally, so please check out my Pet Portraits page. I have many more examples and would be delighted to paint your furry or feathered friend.
Annie is beautiful but painting her was quite a challenge. All the photos from the client depicted her with a sulky look. I loved her ill-tempered look and wanted to paint it. All the same, I realized that wasn’t one of my better ideas and we persevered until Annie had a change of heart. I paint pet portraits professionally, so please check out my Pet Portraits page. The first animal portrait I ever did was of my Henry and his best friend Rocket. They were inseparable and Rocket used to come for weekends and sleepovers. Like other friendships, they have sadly drifted apart. Animals are more constant than humans so if they had had their say, I am sure they would still be romping away.
Henry is a Yorkie and I of course am potty about him. Rocket is a Havanese and, please don’t tell Henry, is more interesting to paint. Being sort of black and white with amazing eyebrows, he exudes personality. I have done a few picture books with both of them as the protagonists. Please check them out on my gallery page.
