This is the front cover of my picture book, FUDDLEY DUDDLEY MAKES FRIENDS, about a yorkie (inspired by my dog Henry) meeting birds and bugs in his garden. I believe children are fascinated by bugs, so I keep adding them to my books.
There were so many brilliant results from my FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES Art and Craft Project at North Beach Public Library, I had to share a few more. First we colored with CARAN D’ACHE water soluble pastels, then painted on water to mix up the colors. After that we stuck on anything and everything. I made a video about the setup and materials for the Art and Craft Project event.
As always these children amazed me with their enthusiasm and creativity at my FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES Art and Craft event at the North Beach branch of the San Francisco Public Library. Each child got a watercolor sheet of paper with a permanent pen line drawing. First we colored with CARAN D’ACHE water soluble pastels, then painted on water to mix up the colors. After that we stuck on anything and everything. This project had a separate butterfly that had to be cut out and stuck on. See my video about the FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES ART & CRAFT PROJECT below:
TODAY is March 23rd—the day for ART WITH ELIZABETH at the San Francisco Public Library, North Beach Branch at 4:00 PM! We are doing a BUTTERFLIES AND FLOWERS ART & CRAFT PROJECT. You are all welcome to come and join us. The North Beach library is located at 850 Columbus Ave., San Francisco.
My next Art With Elizabeth Art and Craft day at the North Beach Public Library is THIS THURSDAY, February 23rd at 4pm! The event features BUTTERFLIES AND FLOWERS and uses water soluble crayons, felt tip pens and an endless supply of fun things to stick on.
I think it is important to make art and craft projects as inspirational as possible, and I encourage children and their parents to be imaginative. The sky is the limit. See images of past craft events at the library on my Art & Craft Projects page.
