BUGS ON JASMINE'S WALLS

Jasmine’s imaginary friend is a cat called Boo. They both love bugs and decide to decorate the walls of her room with flowers and stick-on bugs.

This seemed to me a fun project that should go in my book. I did receive a rather disconcerting critique informing me that moms would not buy a book encouraging their daughters to paint their walls. I think she might have had a point. What a shame children don’t get to choose their own books as I think they would have agreed with Jasmine that this was a splendid idea.

You can check out Jasmine and Boo's decorating ideas and the entire book in a free slide show in my gallery.

If you are looking for the best online critique group—look no further! Inked Voices is the brainchild of Brooke McIntyre who is also a writer.

I have been a member of Inked Voices for a few years and am part of two groups. I am always astonished at how well the members in my groups write and how helpful their critiques are. Posting writing for a critique can be intimidating but not if at Inked Voices. It is private, friendly and one feels part of a community. The groups cover every type of writing. If you don’t see what you want, you can form your own group. This is a fabulous way to get back to writing while continuing with your busy life.

On Inked Voices, people will get personal help matching with a group (Brooke just created a page about this: https://www.inkedvoices.com/matching-with-a-writing-group/) People can create a group with their friends and keep it private, or get help recruiting like-minded writers. As members, they can join/start one or more groups. Lectures on craft are also included with people’s membership.
